History Comes Alive: Abigail Adams

As we continue celebrating the 250th birthday of our nation, we invite you to join us for a special Prime Time event on Friday, August 28.

We are pleased to welcome back Leslie Goddard, an award-winning actress and scholar who has been bringing history to life through her presentations for more than 20 years. Many of you may remember her memorable portrayal of Queen Elizabeth during a previous visit to Wheaton Bible Church.

This time, Leslie will step into the role of Abigail Adams—wife of our nation’s second president, John Adams, and mother of John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States. Through this engaging first-person presentation, you’ll gain a unique glimpse into the life, faith, challenges, and influence of one of America’s most remarkable First Ladies.

The Adams family also has fascinating ties to Wheaton. John Quincy Adams had a cousin who built a home here, and his daughter later donated the property that became what we now know as Adams Park.

We’re thrilled to welcome Leslie back and look forward to an evening of history, learning, and fellowship.
