Brunch with a Missionary
What’s it like to be a Family Nurse Practitioner in rural Ethiopia, serving a Muslim community where the closest hospital is over an hour and a half away over treacherous roads? At our upcoming brunch, veteran WBC missionary Kim Scheel will share some of the joys and challenges of investing an entire career in medical missions in Ethiopia.
Find out how the AIDS epidemic impacted her ministry, get a peek at vaccination clinics in remote Ethiopia, and see how God blessed the work of her team and husband Dan (a construction engineer). They helped build an entire mission station with a school, medical center, and camp—providing on-ramps to the Gospel and a thriving church. Hear stories of hope, of dreams dashed in this precarious part of the world, and celebrate a new chapter as Kim now directs the health care services at the largest Christian international school in Kenya.
Register online, in the Global Outreach Center, or by calling Jan Sokoloski, 630.876.6630. A $5 donation for the brunch is appreciated. Complimentary child care is available, but advance signup is required.
