Slovakian nationals Michal and Katarina are using communications and counseling to reach teens and young adults in their home nation, where their parents grew up under Communism. 

The Poncaks came to know Jesus through an English camp in Slovakia and became part of our WBC church family in 2019 when Katarina completed an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy at Wheaton Graduate School.  At the same time, Michal interned full time with our WBC Communications Team—using his expertise in photography and videography to share inspiring stories about our church’s global and local impact.

This winsome couple are passionate about reaching reach youth in Central Europe with the same Gospel that changed their lives, as they serve with Josiah Venture.  Besides using communications and counseling to serve students and equip leaders, they will disciple students in church-based and regional settings and help lead national youth conferences throughout Slovakia.
