The Scheels have invested their lives in missions work in rural Ethiopia, where Kim has led medical missions teams and Dan used his construction engineering skills to build entire missions stations. Most recently they served at K-12 Rift Valley Academy in Kenya, where Kim directed the health care services and Dan taught art and design.  In Summer 2021, they relocated to SIM’s missionary retirement community in Florida, not as retirees, but to help staff that community—particularly using Kim’s Family Nurse Practitioner expertise to serve the residents.
