Each December, the Women's Ministry of Wheaton Bible Church offers women a beautiful start to the Christmas Season. A Night Before Christmas is an event best shared with a friend, so begin thinking and praying about who you might invite to share a special evening with you. The evening includes an elegant dessert reception, beautiful Christmas music, and a meaningful message—all combining to prepare our hearts for the Christmas season.
Each year, we donate gifts to the Puente del Pueblo Christmas Store. You can help show Christ's love by donating a gift to a child or teen in need. Learn more here.
This year, our special guest speaker will be Annie F. Downs.
Annie F. Downs (the F stands for fun) is a best-selling author, speaker, and podcaster based in Nashville, Tennessee—so be prepared for some y'alls and down-to-earth charm from a woman who is a huge fan of bands with banjos, glitter, her community of friends, boiled peanuts, and soccer. Annie hosts the popular podcast, That Sounds Fun, and cohosts the long-running Relevant podcast. Listen to one of her podcasts and you'll quickly realize that her authenticity, joy and smile can actually be heard as she engages with her guests—because that's who she is: honest, real and fun!
Bringing authenticity and laughter wherever she goes, Annie uses her words to highlight the everyday goodness of a real and present God. She's authored multiple bestselling books: 100 Days to Brave, Looking for Lovely, Let's All Be Brave, Perfectly Unique, and Speak Love. In her latest, Remember God, Annie looks honestly at some hard times that shook her—when her life looked different from what she hoped and how she questioned if God is who He says He is—is He really good and kind? She discovered in those times the importance of knowing and remembering God—His trustworthiness and faithfulness. Annie will help us enter the Holiday season with a fresh look at Christmas—a time of year that can highlight whatever is going on in life, the happy and not-so-happy—and leave us with the best kind of Christmas cheer, and a clear understanding why Christmas can be called, "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year."
