January 25–27, 2019
Winter Camp is the best weekend of the year for Student Life at Wheaton Bible Church! We hear this from students every single year. On Winter Camp weekend, we offer our students a change of pace and a change of place—and pray that they experience a change in their faith.
Winter Camp is a whole lot of fun—but it’s so much more than hanging out in the gym, climbing the rock wall, or playing some volleyball and basketball—although we do all of that. It’s so much more than tobogganing, sledding and playing broom ball outside in the beauty of God’s creation, although we do that too. And yes we hang out in small groups, laugh our way through fun games together, drink hot cocoa, and play board games beside a cozy fire.
But what Winter Camp is mostly about is providing our students the opportunity to hear from God’s word about the person and work of Jesus Christ, to worship God in community, and to discuss what faithfulness means in real life as we talk together in small groups.
Winter Camp weekend is an event that we don’t want any students to miss.

WINTER CAMP FAQs
What is Expeditions Unlimited?
Expeditions Unlimited is a Christian Retreat and Conference Center located near Devil’s Lake State Park, just outside Baraboo, Wisconsin. It’s been our student winter camp home for many years.
Where will my child be staying?
Most cabins have several rooms with several bunk beds in each room and share a common “living room” space. Students will stay in gender- and age-specific cabins with only members from their same age-group.
Why are Junior High and High School students going the same weekend?
We have few important reasons. First we wanted to simplify family scheduled by having both junior and senior high gone for the same weekend instead of separate weekends. Second by combining weekends we can be more efficient with transportation, and tech which reduced the cost for camp for families who went to Expeditions Unlimited last year.
Third, now we can rent out the entire camp for just our kids which eliminates conflicts with other groups that use the camp the same weekend as us and allows us greater control of the camp atmosphere.
Will Junior High and High School be together the entire weekend?
We will be on the same large property together but most of our time junior and senior highwill be doing separate activities. Junior and senior high students will not be on the same busses together, nor will they share cabin space. Meals will be in the same dining hall, but junior high students will sit together apart from senior high. Most activities during “free” time will not together.
Will Senior and Junior high students be in Chapel together?
Yes! We’re very excited about this. In previous years, the student ministry team has planned the exact same chapel experience for both groups on back-to-back weekends. This year, we will come together as one big Student Life family to worship all together and hear from God’s Word together. After chapel, students will split into their grade and gender specific small groups to dive deeper into the message and discuss how to live it out in their lives.
My child has special dietary needs. Can you accommodate that?
Of course! Please indicate any dietary needs on the Expeditions Unlimited Food Allergy Form and get it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Are scholarships available?
