AN ANNIVERSARY CONCERT: Marking 10 years on our North Avenue Campus
Join us for a celebration of the tenth anniversary of our church’s relocation to our West Chicago campus. The evening’s program will bring together organist Marsha Foxgrover, visual artist Timothy R. Botts, and violinist Grace Walker—featuring a concert of organ music drawn from traditional worship services over the past ten years.
Organist Marsha Foxgrover will be performing on the Letourneau pipe organ, which was installed in the West Worship Center as we were preparing for our move to North Avenue. Marsha, who has been the primary organist at Wheaton Bible Church since 1990, will perform selections that highlight the versatility of this outstanding organ. In addition to a performance career that has taken her across the country presenting organ concerts in major churches, colleges, and other venues, Marsha also has served on the faculty of a number of colleges and universities. Her CD, Barber’s Adagio and A Concert of Organ Classics, has been widely praised.
Calligrapher Timothy Botts—who will create an original work of art as we watch—is a nationally recognized artist with many published books of his work, including Doorposts, Windsongs, Messiah, The Holy Bible: Botts Illustrated Edition, and Portraits of the Word. Over his forty years with Tyndale House Publishers, Tim designed more than 600 books before retiring from his role as senior art director in 2012. He has taught workshops internationally, and is presently a part time instructor with College of DuPage.
Violinist Grace Walker recently completed an undergraduate degree in Music Pedagogy and Violin Performance at Wheaton College will round out our performers that evening, featured in solo violin works by Bach.
Marsha and Tim have appeared together in numerous concerts and we are thrilled that they will be with us, blending their talents in a one-of-a-kind program. Bring a friend and plan to join us for a wonderful evening of joyful inspiration!
Tickets are available for $10 online, through some Adult Classes, at the Information Desk,or by calling Joan Darnauer or Annabel Garza at 630.260.1600. Tickets, which cover the cost of both the meal and program, must be purchased by noon Tuesday, November 13.
