FAQ
A GO Team is a short-term missions trip (generally 7-10 days), where people of various ages serve alongside WBC’s cross-cultural missionaries and partners. Every year, WBC offers several GO Teams for adults and families, each designed to meet a specific need. Often, our teams serve vulnerable children or specialized audiences, do construction or work projects, or lead sports or other forms of outreach. All build relationships in Jesus’ name.
God calls all of us to use our gifts to serve one another, and one of the best ways to use our gifts is in support of those who have been called to missions. Hundreds of individuals of diverse ages, skills, and degrees of cultural experience have been used by God on WBC GO Teams over the decades. Virtually all come back with a richer understanding of how God is working around the world.
Our Global Outreach staff will help you craft a letter and/or strategy to invite others to join your support team. Most GO Team members are amazed at how willing friends, family, and fellow Christians are to extend financial help (and prayer) when God is calling you to support our outreach efforts through a GO Team.
All international trips require a current passport—typically one valid for at least 6 months beyond the conclusion of the trip. If you are considering a GO Team (or any kind of missions trip outside the US), we encourage you to apply for (or renew) your passport EARLY to avoid uncertainties and added fees when expediting the process.
Our Global staff, experienced GO Team leaders, and onsite hosts provide each team with training, resources, and step-by-step preparation before you leave. In fact, teams typically meet 3-5 times prior to departure for training and bonding. Remember…you are not doing this alone—but with veteran leaders, missionaries/partners on the ground, and supportive teammates.
