On behalf of leadership, I am thrilled to announce that after a prayerful five-month search, we have hired Steven Hammer as our part-time Traditional Service & Associate Care Pastor, effective July 1. In his role, Steven will give pastoral presence and care to the Traditional Service and its families. He will assist the Seniors’ Ministry Team in its connection and care of seniors. He will also partner with our future Congregational Care Pastor in the overall care for our church with oversight to visitation, benevolence, and funerals.
With over 50 years of pastoral ministry experience, Steven has served in churches in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and South Dakota. He has also served in denominational district leadership with the Christian & Missionary Alliance where he gave leadership to ordination and church health by helping disciple pastors, train Elders, and encourage churches. Steven’s calling as a pastor and gifting as an encourager, shepherd, and mentor are some of the many reasons we are excited for him to join our staff.
Steven is ordained with the Christian & Missionary Alliance and is a graduate of St. Paul (MN) Bible College. Steven and his wife, Beth, have been married 47 years and have two children. They love the Lord and desire to be useful for the glory of God by caring for the local church–we are delighted to have them join our church family. Please pray for them as they transition and begin to make connections here. This Sunday, July 7, Steven and Beth will be in the Traditional services where we will pray over him.
