We are excited to announce that we have hired Kevin Nunnery to serve as the Family Life Pastor. In this role, Kevin will oversee both Student’s and Kid’s Life ministries. He is a gifted leader, developer, and teacher who brings with him over 19 years of experience in both youth and children’s ministries. Prior to accepting this position, Kevin served as the Student Pastor at Brookwood Church in Greenville, SC starting in 2017. Through his cover letter, we can clearly hear his heart for ministering to the next generation:

“…I have become increasingly passionate about reaching the next generation for Christ. We live in a world full of brokenness, sin, pain, sorrow, and temptation. Research from the Barna Group has shown that approximately 94% of people who will place their faith in Christ will do so prior to the age of 18. This means that vibrant, relevant, mission minded Next Gen ministries are of vital importance. I have been asked numerous times through the years if I ever plan on becoming a “real pastor.” My tongue in cheek response is always the same: there’s nothing more “real” than student ministry. I believe that God has called and equipped me to be an ambassador to the next generation. It is an honor to fulfill this call on my life.

I am passionate about meeting students where they are, building relational equity, and investing in students outside of the four walls of a church. This has been both my personal practice as well as the model I’ve put in place for my staff and volunteers. I also believe that parents are called to be the primary spiritual leader of their children and students. It is therefore my goal to encourage, equip, and empower parents to lead the way as my team and I come alongside them.”

Kevin and his wife Juli have two sons, Judah (5) and Joel (4), and they are relocating from South Carolina. Kevin started on Monday, September 30, and his wife and boys will be moving later in October. Please welcome them to our church family and pray for their transition—that they will connect well with our church and their community.
