Baptism

We believe children can understand and make the decision to put their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. When they are able to profess their faith and express the desire to be baptized, we want to help them celebrate!

Baptism is an outward symbol of the inner commitment we have made to the Lord Jesus Christ. Once your child has made the decision to put their faith in Jesus Christ, Scripture tells us it's important to publicly proclaim the new life they have found in Him by being baptized.

If you have never been baptized yourself, you might consider also getting baptized and then helping your children.

To help prepare for Baptism, parents should download Teaching Your Child About Baptism and go through the activities with your child. By doing this, your child does not need to attend the Baptism Preparation Class. Instead, a time will be set for your child to meet with Ginny Stair, Family Life Director, to confirm that they truly understand what it means to have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and that they are ready to be baptized. Contact Ginny at 630.876.6636, gstair@wheatonbible.org.
