Maturing Adults Gathering April 19, 2018
Encountering God Through Music
A night of inspirational music and stories of God at work!
Musicians from within our church—along with talented young instrumentalists from Wheaton Academy—will join hosts Steve and Katie Willemssen for a memorable evening of great music and stories of God at work. We'll enjoy some fun moments as well as share a relaxed evening of celebrating all God can do through the blessing of music.
Steve and Katie have been serving and leading together in music ministry since their college days at Valparaiso University, and then in Chicago's western suburbs since they married in 2001. Steve is in his eleventh year as the band and orchestra teacher at Wheaton Academy, where he also leads annual music and ministry trips to locations in the Midwest and to Guatemala in Central America.
Katie, who taught band and music for many years, and helped lead worship with choir and orchestra, now serves as the Volunteer Coordinator of our church.
Steve and Katie, who believe that many different kinds of music can be used to worship and glorify God, will present a wide-ranging program of inspirational and classical music—a program that will demonstrate their love of gathering musicians together to fulfill the truth of David's words in Psalm 34:3; an invitation to all:
"Magnify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together!"
Tickets are available for $10 online, through some Adult Classes, at the Information Desk, or by calling Joan or Annabel at 630.260.1800. Tickets must be purchased by noon Tuesday, April 17. Ticket price covers the cost of the meal and the program.
