Student Ministry at Wheaton Bible Church exists to challenge and encourage students to be obedient to God’s command to be a disciple who makes disciples and fulfill God’s mission to love Him, grow together and reach the world. By actively and creatively partnering with parents in the discipleship of their child, we are committed to provide our students with opportunities to grow in their faith through discipleship focused communities. Our aim is for our students to then take the Gospel to their homes, school campuses, neighborhoods and out to the world.
What is High School SundayAM? High School SundayAM is a large group worship experience for our high school students. When is High School SundayAM? High School SundayAM meets on Sundays from 9:45-11:00am. Where is High School SundayAM? High School SundayAM meets in the Warehouse at Wheaton Bible Church. What takes place during High School SundayAM? Students participate in large group worship and receive Bible teaching. How does a new student get connected at High School SundayAM? Students are greeted at the door by student leaders and/or staff. If a student is new he/she should inform a greeter and they will be brought to the Hub. At the Hub a staff member/volunteer will have the student fill out a “new student information card” and will connect them to specific students & leaders in their grade. An email will also be sent to the student and/or family the following week welcoming them to the ministry and providing them with additional helpful information.
What are High School Core Groups? High School Core Groups allow students to participate in gender and grade specific discipleship small groups that meet in homes for Bible study, fellowship, and prayer. When are High School Core Groups? High School Core Groups typically meet on Wednesday nights from 7:00-9:00pm. Where are High School Core Groups? High School Core Groups typically meet in student/leader homes. How does a new High School student sign up for Core Groups? During Junior High SundayAM students are split up into grade and gender specific discipleship small groups (Core Groups) where they meet with a leader and dive into God’s Word. Where is Junior High SundayAM? Junior High SundayAM meets in the Warehouse at Wheaton Bible Church at 9:45am. How can a student sign up for a Junior High Core Group? What is the purpose of Studio78? Studio78 exists to provide our students with a safe place to bring non-believing friends, in order to give them the opportunity to hear the Gospel message. When is Studio78? Studio78 meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30 pm. Where is Studio78? Studio78 meets in the Warehouse at Wheaton Bible Church. What takes place at Studio78? At Studio78 students engage in exciting games, powerful worship, and receive teaching from God's Word.
Does Student Ministry have any camps or retreats? Yes, Student Ministry has a Junior High Winter Camp. When is Winter Camp? Junior High Winter Camp is the first weekend in February. Where is Winter Camp? Winter Camp is at Expeditions Unlimited Camp in Baraboo, Wisconsin. What takes place at Winter Camp? Students participate in winter activities and competitions, worship, receive Biblical teaching from a guest speaker, and engage in small group Cabin Times. What are the logistics of Winter Camp? (i.e registration, price, transportation, lodging, etc) Registration begins in December and is done online. The cost of camp is typically $175 dollars. This fee includes transportation to and from camp, meals, and lodging.
Does Student Ministry host any Junior High outreach events? Yes, our Junior High Team hosts an All Night Rager. When is the All Night Rager? The All Night Rager is April 20th-21st. The 2012 ANR will be held at the YMCA and Enchanted Castle. For more information about the ANR and to register, please visit www.allnightrager.com.
Student GOTeams This year our Junior High Student Go Teams are taking place July 29th-August 4th. During this time frame there are two trips offered. One trip will go to Chicago and the other Dayton, Ohio. Please visit www.wheatonbible.org/studentgoteams for more information.
